As someone who is (sort of) in the market, this hits. I'm generally not like this, but I experience it a lot. And it has been gnawing in my mind maybe I should.

This is good confirmation I should NOT.

this is nothing new. This has always existed on some level. The darker side of humankind.

This is brilliant, but this perspective is more in line with the experiences of women than the experiences of men. As some have said before, women approach dating like shopping, and men approach dating like a job interview. Women are the ones ultimately making the choices. Men are just glad to have been chosen at all. This is why most men swipe right on every woman. It increases our chances to get a date. Women then choose from the men available. Men change themselves to fit into whatever "job" they can find. This is how online dating works, and why I don't do it anymore.

Never have chosen a dating app to find a real person. Friends have done this and found great partners truly compatible with them and those of us who welcome them into our circle wholeheartedly.

The gut instinct to feel secure in someone’s company means much more than a checklist. The checks may turn into x’s but the preference to care for each other no matter what challenges arise is the question to answer. Longevity of the heart beyond a list of haves and have nots.

Very few people stay together when a challenge arises, these days. When you start dating someone, the moment even a tiny problem arises, it is over. People have no interest in real commitment these days. If it is not positive fun 100% of the time, the relationship has no chance of survival.
