Plato was right in his diagnosis of the disease, but I have questions about his prescription for a cure. If citizens are to be trained in ethics, critical thinking, and philosophy, does this mean that any citizen who is not so trained is disenfranchised?

Yes and thats how it should be, you can not grant every idiot the right to vote.

So, Simon Says, some people in Capitalism are starving, but not everyone has a right to vote.

Millions are starving under capitalism, yes. Capitalism does not entail the right to vote.

Liar. Millions, tens of millions, starved to death or were murdered under communism in the 20th century. At least 100 million people. That not including the people who died during WW2.

Look up the Global Report on Food Crises 2025, 300 Million people suffer from famine. These are capitalist countries. Surely there has been hunger in the Soviet Union too, I am not denying that. But this was not communism because communism is the absence of state, money and classes.

Cultivate critical thinking and education?? America has proved that does not work. Ivy League professors and lawyers are all left wing socialist fools even after socialism just slowly starved 100 million people to death.

The best solution is allegiance to a Constitution like ours. That way govt is extremely limited to a few enumerated powers so it won't have the power to get us all killed.

Sure there is no famine under capitalism? Millions are starving even in capitalist states

If it were true that people are starving under capitalism you would not be so afraid to give us your best example of this. What does the Democrat learn from his fear???

Why don't you look it up and if there is anything worthwhile in it tell us what it is???? How will you learn if you are afraid to try?

Ok this report lists more than 50 countries which are affected by hunger, all of them are capitalist

Plato was right. Democracy allows the ‘mob’ a vote - the ‘mob’ meaning the poorly educated working class, some of whom harbour fear and prejudice of minorities and as such are easy targets for right-wing MSM and politicians. They lack the critical thinking skills to see through the narrative and lies peddled by MSM and the political right.

Good article. I do have to ask though, whose ethic and whose philosophy is taught in the education system?

Our educators have hijacked the whole system, from kindergarten to University and indoctrinated generations now so that their “reasoning” is ideological nonsense and contrary to the ethics and philosophies that made the west the best place to live.
